💰ABOUT FIAT OFF-RAMP
PengoPay’s Role and Responsibilities
PengoPay is a non-custodial crypto payment platform. We do not provide custody services, and we do not perform fiat withdrawal or settlement services on behalf of users.
At all times, users remain in full control of their funds.
What PengoPay Does Not Do
To avoid any confusion, PengoPay does not:
Hold or custody user funds
Execute fiat withdrawals
Act as an OTC desk, broker, or money transmitter for fiat settlement
Open accounts or perform KYC/KYB on behalf of users
Touch or control funds during the fiat withdrawal process
Fiat settlement is not processed through PengoPay systems.
What PengoPay Does Provide
PengoPay helps users navigate the fiat off-ramp landscape by offering:
Curated information on fiat withdrawal options by currency and region
Educational guides explaining:
Typical off-ramp workflows
Regulatory and compliance requirements
Common KYC/KYB expectations
Clear separation between:
On-chain crypto payments handled via PengoPay
Fiat withdrawal processes handled independently by users
This approach allows users to make informed decisions while maintaining full autonomy.
How Fiat Off-Ramp Works (User-Controlled Flow)
The fiat off-ramp process is entirely user-managed and typically follows these steps:
Choose a fiat off-ramp provider Users select a licensed and regulated provider they trust, based on currency, jurisdiction, and requirements.
Open an account with the provider Users independently register with the chosen provider.
Complete KYC / KYB All identity verification and compliance checks are conducted directly between the user and the provider.
Transfer crypto funds Users send funds from their own wallet to the off-ramp provider, following the provider’s instructions.
Withdraw fiat Fiat settlement is completed by the provider to the user’s bank account or designated payout method.
At no point does PengoPay participate in, intermediate, or influence these steps.
User Responsibility and Control
Because PengoPay does not custody funds or perform fiat settlement:
Users are solely responsible for:
Selecting an off-ramp provider
Complying with local laws and regulations
Completing KYC/KYB procedures
Executing transfers and withdrawals
Users maintain full control over:
Wallet access
Fund movements
Off-ramp relationships
This design ensures transparency, autonomy, and clear responsibility boundaries.
Why This Design Matters
PengoPay intentionally separates payment infrastructure from fiat execution to:
Reduce custodial and regulatory risk
Avoid conflicts of responsibility
Allow users to work with providers they already trust
Support a wide range of jurisdictions and fiat currencies without imposing a single intermediary
This model aligns with best practices for non-custodial financial infrastructure.
Future Updates
PengoPay may introduce integrated fiat off-ramp experiences in the future, in partnership with licensed providers.
Any such integrations will continue to follow these principles:
Clear separation of responsibilities
Transparency around provider roles
User awareness and control
Details will be documented clearly if and when such features are introduced.
Summary
PengoPay is non-custodial
PengoPay does not perform fiat withdrawals
Fiat off-ramp activities are handled entirely by users and third-party providers
PengoPay provides guidance, structure, and clarity, not execution
